“Some Bunny is One,” girls birthday on St. Simons Island, Georgia.

I can not believe how fast this first year has flown by. My sweet Avalon Rose turned “One” on October 19, 2020. Due to the year and all things COVID, I felt like I missed getting to share her sweet + bubbly spirit with so many people. I wanted to celebrate her life and sweet personality with some of my dear friends who haven’t really gotten a chance to meet her, and our immediate family.

I came up with the Theme “Some Bunny is One,” because the nursery I designed for my daughter is themed around bunnies…and I knew I could easily pull in moments that I possible had already invested in that would act as decor…not to mention Avalon’s current favorite stuffed animal is her bunny named, Angora (yes I’m that mom that names every single one of her stuffed animals and babies, LOL).

I naturally gravitate towards soft pastels, and since her birthday just so happens to be in the Fall Season, I also wanted to bring in a deeper Rosey- Mauve color tone. I pulled in some rich velvet linens, in fact ALL of the linens I chose for Avalon’s B-Day party were velvet, from a rosey -mauve, to a floral charcoal, blush print favor and cocktail tables, to the main guest table, which was blush velvet. Velvet linens always add an additional element of movement and luxury look to any event.

We’re never promised tomorrow. Nor do we know what the rest of this year or next holds, so my philosophy is to celebrate each and every occasion, moment and milestone like it may be the last. I know that this has taught me to never for one second take for granted the time spent with loved ones and friends.

I hope my daughter’s one year birthday party inspired Some Bunny (pun intended).
