Rachel and Brett met in 2011 at the second McGladry Classic Golf Tournament (now the RSM) on a random whim! Brett was there to put up the big screens and Rachel went to a media event with a friend who was at the time working the golf tournament. Rachel saw Brett saw across the room and remarked (pretty audibly, but Brett says he didn’t hear her) that he was “really hot” while he was sitting at a table schmoozing with some older men. Rachel’s friend’s co-worker felt bad for Brett because he had nothing to do and knew we knew all the good spots on the island so asked if we would take him out to cure him of his boredom. Rachel’s friends, Lexie, Devin, and I went to Fancy Q’s with Brett and he asked Rachel for her phone number. Brett and Rachel started to talk every day from then on. Brett’s intentions began to clearly show, and Rachel knew that he was interested in more than just a fling.

Brett and Rachel dated long distance for about a year and a half, but of course saw each other as often as they could…until Rachel got tired of that, and moved to the suburbs of Dallas to live with him and start graduate school. They moved around Dallas/Denton until I graduated and took the opportunity to follow our hearts to Colorado, where they’ve really felt at home ever since!
