September 3, 2018
That’s right, after a super looooong and glorious social media break, I’m back and I’m heading to work New York Fashion Week! OMG!
How was your Summer? I hope it was more restful than mine. Typically, I take off at least one month in the Summer, because Summer’s are our super slow months here due to the scorching sun and you sweat your fanny OFF! Like for real.
Quick Story: The second wedding I booked in my career was a beach wedding in July. I sweet talked my husband prior to hiring any full-time employees to work the wedding with me. LOL! I’ve never worked a beach wedding since that day, nor will I in the Summer. It’s miserable for everyone involved. Everyone looks like they stepped out of a sauna after a cat fight.
Honestly, I had planned on having a super chill Summer, but God blessed me with some AMAZING opportunities, I just didn’t feel I could pass up. And before I knew it Summer was almost over and (I’ll blog this later, I promise! I’m so so behind on blogging).… my hubby was also gone for his job for a solid month. I felt like we barely even saw each other….and well the order in which I truly “TRY” to prioritize my life is God, Hubby, and Work so with that being said I just felt the need to shut down my social media and catch up with the love of my life and keep my priorities in check!
We visited Portland, Maine and I tried to eat Lobster EVERYTHING! LOL! (I promise to blog this soon!)
But to catch you up to speed, I’ll be the lead event planner and coordinator for for NYFW powered by Art Hearts Fashion.
New York Fashion Week starts Thursday, September 6th and lasts until Sunday, September 10th. I’m excited for this opportunity and to absorb even more inspiration. You see this opportunity comes full circle for me, because my mother was a fashion major and one of my biggest inspirations in my business designing and working with my clients is fashion. I’m excited to see some amazing designers and see how this years fashion trends influence my designs for the remainder of this year and next.
But seriously, I’ve had so much going on behind the Scenes of Emily Burton Designs, and to pull you up to speed, here’s a look at what’s going on:
I mean the list goes on! But, I’m so happy I took a break…it was so nice to clear my mind, mediate and pray for the direction of my company for 2019.
In the mean time, if you are interested in a certain topic related to events or fashion, email us!
