Gosh, I feel so behind on blogging…with all of my travels recently and venue walk-throughs my days seem to just get away from me (whose with me?!) I’m just catching up on lots and lots of blogs posts from all of my recent Summer travels!
I was recently asked to speak in L.A. at my friend’s, very first Symposium, The David Tutera Symposium. Okay, Pinch Me! For quite sometime I had dreamed of speaking at a conference to help other entrepreneurs and then to find out it was in L.A…just made it all that more exciting!
I was even more flattered, and maybe a little nervous by the list of key speakers I was going to be following…I mean would anyone even listen to me after I was to follow some super powerful keynote speakers?!
So, I hopped on a plane to LAX, with a dream and a cardigan (LOL!) not the cardigan part..but I did head out!
This year the 2017 Symposium was held in L.A. at the Millennium Biltimore Hotel (oh by the way where Angelina Jolie and Lady Gaga were staying) Lady Gaga, she was actually filming a video around on the grounds.
I love David’s Mission and Goal behind The David Tutera Symposium. David’s goal was to create a support systems for wedding planners in the industry as well as educate
KEY SPEAKERS:
The key speakers this year included none other than David Tutera himself, his partner Joey Toth, Slomique Harlow, Anne Palmer, Eda Kalkay, Rene Johnson from Lush Flowers and yours truly!
All of the speakers were so incredible, and I personally took something away from each of them, but the one that spoke to me most, I think due to my own personal life, was Joey. I really struggle with balance (balance of putting God first, work, home, cleaning, cooking, blogging, social media posting, you name it!) I’m just being real…I don’t ever think you “Master It”, but what I have found out through trial and error and wearing my self down to pure exhaustion is the fact that it’s a constant process you have to keep yourself in check with as your life constantly changes, and that’s ok.
Being a part of a larger community, like the David Tutera Symposium, allows you to build relationships that will last a life time. I’ve learned that some of the most heartfelt relationships come through sharing the same experiences, while relating to others in the industry. David has created a community where you can experience ALL OF THIS. And, might I had, while learning how to balance your life! It’s not only a great educational experience, it’s David also celebrates your career by designing top of the line parties and events for you to attend…after all of the hard work we’ve done throughout the year for our clients, we deserve a party that inspires us, one where we can sit, relax and just have a good time!
I got to do just that! Two of the parties I attended while in L.A., were an Old Hollywood themed party, and a Women’s Power Party. Both, very different, and both very enjoyable (see pictures above)
Lastly, David is an open book, one of the many things I love about him! I promise, what you see, is what you get! Thank you, David for the personal invite to this years Symposium and for the opportunity to speak amongst so many other people I’ve admired in the industry for quite some time!
So you may be asking like many others, how can I see you speaking (well, video malfunction) I have a tiny clip on my phone that I’m working on uploading
