One thing I’ve learned as an Event Designer…I may not always agree or have total control over the linen selections, my client’s choose, but it is my job to make the finished look cohesive!
I was a little worried and gulped when I saw baby blue napkins and hot pink linens everywhere…not that there is anything wrong with it (just wasn’t my taste) and well we all gravitate towards a certain look! The look I gravitate towards is classic, simple, and timeless.
However, at the end of the day, it is my job to make the total event cohesive!
Since the only blue or more precisely, periwinkle if you will, in the room was on the linen napkins, I decided to to a floral hanging installation with blues, hot pinks, yellows and natural green. I call this Cross Coordination. Cross Coordination means pulling something from one area to another area that makes it cohesive or flow!
Not only was it smart to play on Cross Coordination, it’s also a great idea to add a hanging floral installation when you have tall white walls and ceilings and a desired wedding theme of, ” Enchanted Forrest meets Whimsical Garden Themed Wedding.” (yes it’s a mouth full)
