I can’t help it, I just love muted colors. Don’t you?! Like, half of my closet is black, white and gray…and I keep saying I’ll start buying more color options, but I always end up coming home with the same color scheme. I think it’s simply the fact that neutrals go with everything and in general their timeless and sophisticated!
This tables-cape was inspired by my recent walk through the woods at my hubbies parents’, farm. I stumbled upon some beautiful guinea feathers, and just thought how elegant they were…and I knew I wanted to incorporate them in a Minimal Tables scape soon.
Guinea feathers are timeless. I love the dotted imperfect pattern, it’s modern, but yet nods to tradition.
And, well since I design weddings, events, and homes for a living this design could be carried over in a plethora of avenues of course!
For The Table: I used a combination of square and round plates to add some movement, since I used a muted color palate and break up the monotony of the table. I chose a modern printed napkin, and created the most darling little drink stirs ever (and there under $2.50 for (5)
Silverware: Since, mixing metallics is in this year in both the fashion industry and the wedding industry, I wanted to bring in gold utensils to frame out my place setting.
Centerpiece: I don’t per say like a centerpiece on this table due to the layout of our space, so most of the time during the holidays I use an off-white chair in the corner to put tall arrangements on! But the centerpiece are branches from some random tree… (I’m sure my neighbors thought what in the world, as I was dragging bundles of branches down the road one weekend) LOL! I just chose branches that worked with my design concept and color scheme. I attached larger guinea feathers with twine and hung the feathers at random places or an ornamental look. But you could totally re-create this centerpiece for an Outdoorsy, Artisan themed wedding!
What You’ll Need:
1 permanent marker
1 can chalk spray paint
1 can black spray paint
twine (I used this one)
Guinea feathers ( you can purchase them here)
Egg Directions:
For the Spray Painted Eggs – simply spray + walk away! Add twine to some for additional texture.
For the Sharpie Markers – pick several patterns you love and enjoy being creative. I like to use a mix of a fine time and medium tip for more movement.
For the Guinea Feathers – Take a small pliable or baby guinea feather, hold in the center of a painted or unpainted egg and tie in place with twine.
What You’ll Need:
(1) Can of spray paint
(1) Pack of bunnies – ( I purchased these at Michaels)
(1) Pack of Sucker Sticks (I used this one)
Directions:
First, spray the bunnies so they can dry. (make sure you spray front + back) Next, simply slide them onto your sucker stick, if it feels a little loose add hot glue and use the edge of a cardboard paper to smooth out the glue so it’s not clumpy and showing)
My colorless Easter really isn’t colorless after all, I’m so thankful I’m reminded every year at this specific time how much Jesus really loves me, he shed His own blood for me and everyone else…and that my friends is so far from colorless!!!
Happy Easter sweet Friends! I hope you get to spend this time with your family. We sure are!
