A Tropical themed Christmas with West Elm.

This styled shoot was a partnership with West Elm, on how to showcase their fun eclectic “Dapper Animal” plates all throughout the season.

I was am a tad obsessed with the Dapper Animal collection, because they are such fun pieces and make you instantly smile. I’ve actually styled the Dapper Animal plates this Christmas season two ways, both with a tropical spin, one more shabby chic tropical and one more modern elegant tropical (which I’ll launch via a video soon!)

I loved playing on the fun colors in the plate including, an orange mustard yellow, a teal green, cranberry, natural browns and blacks.

Flowers: I pulled in different colors and types of tropical leaves, from palm fronds to philodendrons (which are naturally grown in and around the southern parts of South Georgia and Florida).

Vases + Candles: I pulled in a variety of my West Elm Older Collection of vases (the milk vase blues) and incorporated some of their newer solid tube teal vases and stout vases. I pulled in gold taper candles and staggered them amongst the floral vases to bring in an elegant touch.

Two very simple ways to elevate your table this season are:

1. Bring in tile mesh sheets of backsplash to create instant “plate chargers” or to make your plate pop.

Tip: If you feel like your table is took dark or masculine, and or you are wanting to add in a more modern element, a charger is a great way to break up the masculinity and bring in another color and texture.

2. Are you having a hard time finding the perfect floral color or vase? Bring in a trio of fun cocktails or mocktails. I pulled in colors from the Dapper Animal plate collection to add more depth to my already floral or foilage tablescape if you will. It was the perfect compliment to make this fun tablescape POP..if you know what I mean.
