My heart is still aching for the recent tragedy that happened in Las Vegas. I fell in love with Las Vegas, Nevada this past January. Since I can’t seem to take my mind off of the tragedy that struck this city, I thought I would focus on how I remembered Vegas last…a fun energetic city, full of life, lights, stimulation, and yes maybe flash cards or two (but it wasn’t as “in your face” as what people had communicated). A city full of visual inspiration, from city lights to beautiful mountain and valley views.
I loved the city for it’s inspiration on every street corner and unique architectural presentation that every building offered, for example, the Chinese New year garden installation in the Bellagio. Two of my favorites, were the Bellagio fountain show that danced to music, and The Paris hotel, how well it manipulated your mind into thinking you were actually in Paris with the gondola rides, the market lamps on every street corner and the hand painted clouds on the ceiling. Oh and did I mention, that the crepes in The Paris, were so good we ate there EVERY MORNING! Yes, every morning! I didn’t feel guilty at all, after all where we were staying, which was at The Cosmopolitian, the walk over the bridge and down the street ended up being almost a mile, so it was my reward for a morning walk…or at least I convinced myself of that.
I had a couple approach me about flying off, to get married. After several long chats via the phone and and meeting in person to discuss their vision and budget, we settled on Vegas. My clients had been considering two options, one being Savannah, and one Vegas, and after after carefully considering budget and honeymoon options, Vegas ended up working within their budget perimeters and really was the best overall choice for their Vintage – Pin up Flair.
Jessica, already had her eye on three different dresses, one for a morning- ceremony look, one post ceremony and to walk the Las Vegas Strip in, and an evening and cocktail look.
Needless to say, prior to leaving, I pitched them the idea, since we’re all traveling as a team, why not let us go ahead and do a full elopement documentary, after all candid shots are always some of the more relaxed looks that we all love.
So off we went to Vegas! And it truly was not only a memorable time for them, but it’s been one of my favorite trips to date. Vegas, you have a special place in my heart, this post is dedicated to you, know that you are on our minds, in our hearts, and in our prayers. I pray that the families that have been impacted, will find hope during this dark time, I pray that the city will pull together in a way that God would expect and that you would all focus on how good can come out of such a tragic situation. The Lord is all I have, and so in him I put my hope. (Lamentations 3:24)
Until next time Vegas, we love you.
