Ronna and Slade are “that couple” that clearly never meet a stranger, dearly loved by EVERYONE (and yall when I say EVERYONE, I mean EVERYONE) and the “life of the party!” And that’s exactly what we wanted their wedding to represent, a good time and them being surrounded by everything they loved and everyone one they loved!
These two, loved football…although a house divided, (Georgia and Alabama), trying new foods, their family and dear friends and celebrating life…over a good cocktail, so I definitely wanted to make sure all these elements were highlighted on their wedding day!
Their overall wedding style was fun, yet timeless and refined! I’ll talk more about the overall design concept in the next section. Let’s talk about one of my favorite things, FOOD! Their food style was a mix and mingle of their favorite foods, where they ate on their first date, and reminiscent of their all-time favorite restaurants. Cocktail hour started in a Progressive dinner style, with some of their breakfast favs, like fried chicken and waffles, and irish cream with candies bourbon bacon followed by a grand food station collection of local shrimp and grits, an oversized charcuterie board and dip station and clearly, Slade’s favorite, the Gaucho Station…LOL!
A little about their Design Concept:
Ronna orginally was leaning towards selecting a boho-style wedding gown, until she fell in love with her over -the top formal couture wedding dress by Matthew Christopher at Bridals by Lori. It was a showstopper! (I Kept telling Ronna + Slade, they looked like the modern age Barbie and Ken dolls…what do yall think?)
Once I saw her gorgeous wedding dress, we both agreed a combination of “formality” due to her wedding dress being so formal with some boho accents would be the perfect design mix. Ronna had already selected some super flowing bridesmaids dresses in a blush, nudy pink from Show me your Mumu.
To keep the perfect formal and boho balance, I brought in gold mirrored top cocktail tables that were flanked on each side of the dance floor, gold candles, gold chairs and glass accents used in the chargers on the tables. Lush greenery with lots of textures were used in place of flowers to help evoke the boho vibe, complete with two hanging all greenery floral installations over the head tables and a “tricked” out gold chandelier with hanging greens that become the focal point for their first dance.
The night ended with us passing out each person’s favorite football team color pom pom, and the #TwoPirtleDoves riding off in style in a vintage Rolls Royce.
