Like the old wives tale goes, rain is good luck on your wedding day! Well, it was definitely good luck on Brooke and Chance’s wedding day and what a Glamorous Southern wedding it was!
It must have been good luck from the very beginning with these two, not only did it rain on their wedding day, it also rained the day Chance proposed to Brooke…God always has a funny way of “winking” at us through signs and moments, doesn’t he?!
I actually love the fact that it rained on their wedding day, because of this very reason… not that I wanted it to rain the whole time or even rain at all (due to the circumstances of the entire wedding being that both the Ceremony and the Reception was outside for about 253 guests) But again, God winked and the rained cleared up, J u s t i n t h e n i c o f t i m e! Literally, it stopped raining on time, but in the world of of the Gonzalez’s, on time is early, and 20 minutes late, is right on time (love you guys though)!!! Mom saved the day, needing to run out to have one more sip of champagne and gloss her lips. I swear I felt like I was on another reality TV episode!
And the first chapter starts like this…
In late summer of 2005, we were all enjoying the last few weeks of our summer vacation before the beginning of High School. Chance had just moved to my hometown of Brunswick, Georgia from his home in Tom’s River, New Jersey. My friends and I had made plans to go see a movie with some guy friends we had that would be attending a different High School. When I arrived at the movie theatre, my eyes caught the attention of a very good-looking new guy in the group, and I caught his attention as well. After introductions, and a fun night with friends, we exchanged contact information and hung out a few times. Although the timing would not be right until October of 2009, we kept in contact and remained friends even though we both dated other people in the meantime.
One night in the fall of my freshman year at college, I decided to contact Chance and see how he was doing. On October 20, 2009, Chance and I had our first date. We would go on several more dates before finally making it official on November 4, 2009. The next 6 years and 9 months would be filled with love, laughter, and even a few tears. We went through our first year of college, a break-up, getting back together, a long distance relationship when I moved 3 hours away to go to college, and many more trying times throughout our relationship. No matter where life took us or how long it took us to get where we are, we wouldn’t trade one moment of this crazy ride we have been on. Our relationship was built on the most solid foundation of trust, faith, and love for each other.
The Second Chapter: The Proposal
When he proposed, he planned a secret romantic candlelit dinner on the beach in Jamaica. A few hours before our reservation, he told me we had dinner plans, which I didn’t believe at first because we couldn’t get reservations anywhere that week! We got ready, and he walked me over to a beautiful table on the beach with candles and rose petals, and our server handed us personalized menus that had our names on them. After dinner, it started to rain, so we ran to a nearby shelter and decided to go back to the room. On the way to the room, he stopped me, in the pouring rain, and asked “You know I love you, right?” And when I turned to look at him, he was down on one knee asking me to marry him.
The Third Chapter: Brooke + Chance’s Glamorous Southern Wedding
There wedding encompassed lush blooms, custom monogramed floral glassware, candle glassware, and SIX CHANDELIERS, four of which has 14 karat gold and rose gold real foliage all hand painted. We love customizing tiny details to make each wedding personable and unique. Brooke always had a thing for Monograms, and well…she loved this little touch we added in for her.
