Every year it seems as though brides or party planners are looking at “pinching their pennies” on their wedding or party favors so they can spend a little extra money in other areas.
If you’re that bride or party planner and are looking for some simple fall DIY favors, we’ve some simple possibly even free, (or free to you at least) favors you may want to consider.
Home Made: Go for something home made in the fall! For example, apple butters, bottled cider, home made jam, or even pre-mixed hot cocoa. I would just recommend you placing a date of expiration, as well as a list of ingredients…with all of the allergies these days, you can never be too careful.
Hand-picked: Being in the south definitely has its perks…and forging has been one of my favorite things to do the last two years. You may be asking, what is forging? Forging is hand-picking or hand -selecting locally grown greenery, flowers, and or other items to use in a tables cape or floral arrangement.
For example, Pick stalks of cotton, you can typically get 5-8 bowls to the stalk. You could use these as place card settings, in arrangements, or lastly as an ornament for the upcoming holiday season. Better yet, if you can ask a local farmer, I’m sure they would allow you to pick a couple and not charge you…or if they do charge you, you’ll pay a fraction of the cost..and just think about it, you’re supporting local! And I’m all about supporting local.
Some of our favorite Hand-picked items: Cotton, wheat, Olive Vines, Apples, Peaches, and Pears!
