Every year I’ve worked on Mother’s Day weekend, until this weekend! I intentionally didn’t book anything, because well the older you get you realize how short life really is and well, there are more important things, like baking dad’s favorite batch of cookies and eating half of the batter with your sissy, before it the cookies ever get on the pan!
My mom has A L W A Y S loved to bake! I remember my friends coming over and saying, ” I swear you mom is like an Octopus in the kitchen! Meaning it looks like she had about eight different arms moving in different directions. But her heart has always been her family, and one way she’s always shown us how much she loves us was through taking her time to precisely cook us our favorite meals possible.
For me, well half of my life, bless my mom’s heart…I was a vegan. The other half I’ve had an Autoimmune Disease so between just me and then you have my sister early own she ate everything… like to the point where mom had to ask the lunchroom ladies why she couldn’t wear her clothes anymore to dad, not liking his greens so much. Let’s just say her hands have been full…and that’s just with the food side. And, LET ME TELL YOU she’s patiently cooked and tweaked and loved
I’m heading home to bake cookies just like we used to do when we were little girls…just like these little girls in this picture!
Happy Mother’s Day to all you Mamas out there! You are so appreciated and we thank God for you each and every day!
