Can I just say I love repeat clients. No, Mandi wasn’t getting re-married…But I did do her best friend’s wedding about 2 years ago.
I truly think this is the best compliment you can get in this industry when you book a client that’s referred to by their sweet father!
With Mandi and Dan’s style being “relaxed” and them seriously being close friends to over 350 guests, building a ground up wedding outside in 3 months, had some unique challenges. While booking the venue was the first MUST do, we opted for St. Augustine Rod and Gun Club! I might add this was the perfect budget for their over-all style and budget, and anytime we have the opportunity to build a “Ground Up” wedding….hey I’m totally game!
A ground up wedding by the way is a blank slate with nothing and you design the layout, bring in the tables, chairs, lighting, etc and etc. (these are the really fun, but tricky ones)
Good Thing both Mandi and I were the praying type of girls, because Mandi decided to opt out of a tent….while I might add I was a tad bit nervous, but hile praying it didn’t rain presented some challenges. Good thing, Mandi and I were both prayer warriors…I think we both instantly started praying the rain away…especially after
The Ceremony:
We opted for a Semi-Circle that focused on, none other than Jesus (and of course, Mandi and Dan) Wow! I just love what this represented, and symbolized, the foundation of what true love is. Instead of them doing a unity candle, they opted to do communion together for the first time with all of their friends and family. How special was this moment?!
The Reception:
The Reception was also held outside underneath an array of lighting, hand-painted pieces of Pallet Wood, which created our low lounging tables…that were quite a hit may I add! Yes, people although I have been planning and designing weddings and events for over 5 years…when you try something new for the first time it’s always a risk!
We opted for a long L-shaped feating table on the property, flanked with a game area to one side and picnic tables to the other. You see our couple were casual and close to literally everyone at the Wedding, so it definitely was the perfect layout for them.
Mandi and Dan were “that couple” you just instantly connect with and feel like you’ve known forever. Heck, I felt like I was a part of their big family of over 350 people.
Their genuine through and through and their love for each other as well as Jesus, as you can see is undeniable!
