Ice Scream, You Scream (I’m actually screaming over here for two reasons..) LOL!
One, it’s national ice scream day this Sunday, and Two, I’ve been battling with an two Autoimmune diseases since December of last year…and guess what?! No reactions in two weeks (Yippe) If that’s not enough to celebrate within itself…
In Lieu, of National Ice Cream Day this Sunday, we thought we’d share our favorite ice cream joint around town.
If you’re on the island, or traveling to St. Simons Island, and have a craving for just a good old ice cream, please visit my friend Jody at Moo Cow’s. It’ s R E A L I C E C R E A M ….people and I’m not talking about yogurt people, I’m talking about homespun ice cream.
At Moo Cow’s ice cream, Jody is constantly making homemade flavors! So you truly never know what exciting flavor you may get. Some of the homemade flavors include Caramel by the Sea (salty caramel), MooCow’s Famous Candied Bacon, Honeymoon Sweet (turtle), Fortune’s Oreo, Gorgonzola, Avocado, CoCo Vino (chocolate with pinot noir), and Chocolate Diablo (spicy chocolate with cayenne, chili powder, and cinnamon).
At Moo Cow’s they create new flavors all the time. In fact, remember those snacks our parents used to eat, called moon pies… (marshmallow gooeyness with a graham cookie dipped in chocolate?! Well, that’s going to be the featured flavor this weekend, so hop in and get a scoop or two or three!
One of my all time favorites is their rosemary lemon pound cake…it takes just like my granny’s been in the kitchen baking for hours.
So we’ve chatted about the ice cream, but now what about the toppings?!
Well, Moo Cow’s has that covered too! Some of the Toppings you can add include, pecans, oreos, mixed nuts, graham crackers, and chocolate or colored sprinkles. What do you prefer?!
I’m a chocolate and vanilla kind of girl with anything peanut butter, more chocolate, a crunch factor and top it off with some whip cream, please and thank you!
The only thing I’ll be debating this weekend, is how many scoops I’ll be having!!! What about you?!
