Are you like me in the fact that you choose a theme every year for your Christmas tree?!
I totally do, I find one thing that inspires my entire “Christmas Tree” design concept and I just “run with it!” Sometimes it may be a new outfit, or Christmas wrapping paper color or a printed motif or even an old Christmas memory.
This year, and well every year, I’ve been obsessed with wanting to design my entire Christmas tree around the color, ice blue! It’s just gives off such a wintry vibe, right?!
My inspiration surrounding this year’s Coastal Country Modern Christmas were several things, the soft pastel blue skies we pretty much have year round, my walks on our farm that include mini scavenger hunts where we find random birds feathers and where cotton fields flank each side of the road. I love combining soft and hard elements, and old and new…I like to throw “unexpected” items in my Christmas mix.
After all, colors do evoke emotion…and living further souther where we typically O N L Y have 2 seasons Summer and like 3 days of fall (lol) The more wintry it feels the more at home I feel!
The Wrapping Paper: I chose a combination of white wrapping paper, soft blues, natural craft paper and I always like to throw in a fun print or accent color like the double striped paper.
Present Accessories: I like to pull a get a “two-fer” yes my word for two for one…meaning I like to use an ornament to act as my presents decor as well as a gift to the person on the receiving end.
My Present Accessories: This year I used a combination of hand crafted wooden ornaments by my local “friendors” as well as guinea feathers and real cotton. I love bringing in God’s perfect creation, nature in everything I do! It’s always the right color and texture without the need to modify it.
I’d love to know your Christmas tree theme this year!

Emily
